Back:

Rnd 1: ch 2, 9 sc in 2^nd ch from hook. Join to 1^st ch to make a loop. (10 sc)

Rnd 2: Working in continuous rounds mark all 1^st sc of rest of rounds. Ch 1, sc in same st as joining. *( 2c in next ch)* around. DO NOT JOIN (18 sc)

Rnd 3: Sc, in next st *(2 sc, sc in next st)* around (25 sc)

Rnd 4: Sc, in next st *(2sc, sc in next 2 st)* around (32sc)

Rnd 5: 2sc, *(sc in next 3 st, 2sc in next st)* around. Sc in last 3 st (40sc)

Rnd 6: 2 sc, *(sc in next 4 sc, 2sc in next sc)* around. Sc in last 4 sc (48 sc)

Rnd 7: 2 sc, *(sc in next 5 sc, 2sc in next sc)* around. Sc in last 5 sc (56 sc)

Rnd 8: 2 sc, *(sc in next 6 sc, 2sc in next sc)* around. Sc in last 6 sc (64 sc)

Rnd 9: 2 sc, *(sc in next 7 sc, 2sc in next sc)* around. Sc in last 7 sc (72 sc) Finish off

Front: Working in continuous rounds mark all 1^st sc of rest of rounds

Rnds 1-4: Repeat pattern for back

Rnd 5: 2 sc, sc in next 3 sc. (Add black 2 sc, sc in next stitch - beginning of 1^st eye). With purple*(2 sc, sc in next 3 sc)* repeat 4x, 2sc, sc in next 2 sc. (Add black 2sc, sc in next stitch – beginning of 2^nd eye). Add purple, sc in last 3 sc.

Rnd 6: 2 sc, sc in next 4 sc. (add black, 2sc, sc in next stitch – 1^st eye finished). With purple sc, 2sc, sc in next 3 sc. (Add black, sc [2sc, sc in next 4 sc] 2x. 2sc, sc – Mouth). With purple sc in next 3 sc, 2sc, sc in next 4 sc. (add black 2sc, sc – finished 2^nd eye). With purple sc in last 3 sc. (48sc)

Rnds 7-9: Repeat pattern for back DO NOT FINISH OFF

Edging:

With wrong sides together: Sc around going through both thicknesses. Place CD ½ way through you are sc around. Join to first sc. Finish off. Weave in end.
